FLOAT EXPERIENCEALASKA FLY FISHING
Beer Can Lake
To get to Beer-can you drive to four corners(Jewel Lake Road and Raspberry Road). Head west to Kinkade Park. Turn Right to ?Little Campbell Lake?. Beer-can is totally surrounded by park land. Fly Fishing on Beer-Can LakeBeer-can is the local name I think the tourist center renamed it.

Traditional info
The fishing is good but the fish are small. In the 8 to 13 inch range. Most people that fish this lake use salmon eggs from the bank or dock. I very the fly I use throughout the year. This is the lake where I learned an interesting technique. Sometimes when I look at a lake I see small riffles that I thought were the result of a strong gust of wind. One day while I was fishing at the south end of Beer-can. I saw those riffles just a few feet away. Their was no wind. After a moments thought I decided that what I saw was little fish fleeing a larger fish. I looked through my flies for a shinny one and waited. When the riffles re-emerged I cast in the middle and caught a fish about 18 inches long. This technique is sweet.
