FLOAT EXPERIENCEALASKA FLY FISHING
Carpenter Lake
|Barley lake is in the failed point Mackenzie agricultural project. The state wanted to promote dairy production in the state. When the farms were inspected to see that they had the minimum number of cows for the project the inspectors recognized the same cows at different farms.|From downtown Wasilla take Knik-Goose Bay Rd. for about 20 miles. Turn right on Pt. Mackenzie Rd. to the ?T?. Then turn right on Ayrshire Rd. Turn Right on a dirt road after about one mile.|The shape of the lake allows for pockets of really good habitat. This makes the fishing good. Rainbows range in size from 8 to 18 inches. The Silver Salmon are smaller but I have not seen any. |
