|Matanuska Lake has been a very popular Trout fishing spot for years. Recently the state cut the budget for maintenance in the park system. They are now changing for parking and the locals refuse to pay this revolution is now 3 years old and the fish should be getting larger as a result of decreased pressure. The Rainbows range from 10 to 24 inches.|There are also populations of Grayling, Silvers, arctic Char, and King Salmon.|The lake is located on the left side of of the Glenn Highway. when you turn towards Palmer the road goes over a rise. You'll see a sign for the park entrance on the left. turn in and your there.|
